John E. Mcconnell

John E. McConnell, age 87, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Edgewood Manor Care Center. He was born on July 23, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Gus and Arthena (Kauffman) McConnell. John was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korea War era and worked for Kroger’s, where he was the meat cutter. He liked to farm, and really enjoyed fixing up his Ford Tractor. John was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Port Clinton and enjoyed wood working.

John is survived by his children, Scott McConnell; Johnathon McConnell; Daniel (Stephanie) McConnell and Vernadette (Matthew Hartman) Logan aka, Snooks; grandchildren, Skylar, Scottie, Noah, Levi, Grant, Joshua, Hunter and Serenity; great grandchildren, Asher and Angela and siblings, Gus McConnell and Cleo Jean McConnell Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jacob Kluding and 4 siblings.

Visitation will be held from 6:30-9:00 pm on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Gerner-Wolf Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
