John James Maras

John J. Maras age 74 of Sylvania passed away Sunday October 10, 2010 in Lake Park Care Center surrounded by his family. He was born February 15, 1936 in Toledo to Stephan and Florence Maras. John was a spray painter for Yarder Manufacturing for 20 years retiring in 2003. He enjoyed the outdoors, yardwork and camping. Preceded in death by daughter Sheri McConaughey; granddaughter Alina McConaughey; and sister Stephanie Carter, he is survived by Debby Maras; sons Jeff, Michael Sheri, and Mathew Maras; daughters Karrie Randy Wallace, Amy Ed Wallace, Jennifer, Michelle and Stephanie Maras and Amanda Josh Lowrie; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister Rosemarie Poskarbiewicz. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Saturday after 11 AM where funeral services will follow at 1 PM.
