John Raymond Letcher

Dr. John Raymond Letcher, 62, Quicy, MI, formerly of Toledo, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, with his beloved wife at his side. John was born in Pottsville, PA on February 20, 1959, to John and Helen (Thoryk) Letcher. A loving husband and father, John will be remembered as a caring, thoughtful, and compassionate person. His humble disposition made him a role model to follow. John’s biggest career accomplishment is creating and operating the Structural Heart Program at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. His patients and coworkers adored him. His greatest love was his family; John would help in any way possible. For dinner, John indulged in any meal his wife would make, but his weakness was donuts and Sara Lee pound cake. John will be missed and cherished by his loving wife of 36 years, Donna Letcher; children, Kim (Chris) Lussier, John “Jack” (Emily Osbourn) Letcher, Jeff (Kayla Thompson) Letcher; sister, Jean Shappell; and countless friends, patients, and coworkers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends are welcome to gather and celebrate John’s life on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623 (419-841-2422). In lieu of flowers, a donation on John’s name may be made to Toledo Area Humane Society.
