John Wayne Layman

John Wayne Layman, age 78 of Maumee died Friday, October 26, 2018 at Ridgewood Manor. He was born in Toledo on January 12, 1940 to Carl J. Jr. and Myrtle (Laipply) Layman. In his younger years, John served as a Volunteer Fireman. He also enjoyed photography and western square dancing. John had worked for Campbell’s’ and Jeep and later retired from Dohlar Jarvis as a Trouble Shooter for 29 years. He was a beloved father, brother and uncle and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children, Anthony, Christina, Melissa, Nicholas and Amanda Layman; sister, Patricia (Layman) Shible as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Myrtle. Friends will be received on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 9-11 AM at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in John’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
