John Kozak, Sr.

John Kozak Sr., age 84, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Lake Park Comfort Care. The son of John and Anna, he was born June 28, 1923, in Cleveland, OH. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Temperance, MI where he was very active. John operated his own Upholstery shop before working for the Lion store where he retired. In his younger years he was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and Poker. John was from the old school of being very detailed and meticulous about all aspects of life. His true pride and joy was his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Surviving are his daughter, Julia Steven Harsh and their children, Samantha and Brandon; also surviving are his sons, John Jr., Andrew, and Jerry Kozak. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jane and son, Richard. Friends may visit the family from 2-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
