John R. Korn

John R. Korn, 79, of Perrysburg, died Thursday morning, July 13, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. John was born July 15, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to Louis G. and Mildred M. (Heffelfinger) Korn. On November 15, 1956 in Elmore, Ohio, he married Marlene A. Barnes, who survives him. He served in the U.S. Army. For 30 years John worked as an electrician at Sun Oil Co. and volunteered as an ombudsman at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. He always enjoyed working outside and especially in his garden. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Marlene, John is survived by daughter, Patti Korn, son Steven (Dana) Korn; grandchildren, Lindsy (Eli) Briggs, John Witmer, Samuel Witmer, Emma Witmer, Anna Witmer, Jacob Witmer, Samantha Korn and Bailey Korn; great grandchildren, Logan and Ethan Briggs; and brother, Ronald (Lorraine) Korn. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tamara Witmer, and two infant brothers. In keeping with the familys wishes, services will be private. Memorials for John may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
