JOHN F. KEVERN John F. Kevern, 74, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away August 1, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in San Francisco, California on July 4, 1942 to Edward J. and Mary M. (Kavnick) Kevern. John graduated from Central Catholic High School and continued his education at University of Toledo where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. John worked as a Realtor Accountant for Key Reality. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a former member of Perrysburg Rotary. He served on Fort Meigs Union Cemetery Board, and Perrysburg School Board as President for over 20 years. John was an elected councilman for Perrysburg City Council in 2002 and served until 2005 and was reelected in 2008 and in 2012. Currently, John served as President of the Council since January of 2014 and also chairman of the Safety Committee and member of the Finance & Economic Development Committee & Personnel Committee. He also served 20 years on the board of Penta Career Center and was active with Woodlane Industries. In his free time John enjoyed traveling to Europe and his favorite place, Las Vegas. John will be dearly missed by his wife, Nancy (Stafford) Kevern; mother-in-law, Francess (Charlie) Moon; sister-in-law, Deniece Kevern; nieces and nephews, Edward (Lisa) Kevern, Kathy Horn, David (Jane) Kevern, Cindy (Don) Hood, and John Kevern; sister-in-law, Lauri Stafford and brother-in-law, John (Holli) Stafford, III and uncle and aunt, Ron and Kathy Baird and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Judith; daughter, Amy Kevern; and brother, Edward Kevern. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will start at the funeral home with prayers beginning at 9:15 AM and a funeral mass at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions in John’s name can be made to Woodlane Industries.
