John Jack Davis

John Jack L. Davis, age 83, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Spring Meadows Community Center in Holland, Ohio, surrounded by his family. He was born to John and Helen Lambert Davis on June 25, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio. Jack served his country in the Air Force from 1947 to 1950 and began his career working for the New York Central Railroad, City of Toledo and for several telephone companies as a lineman and installer before going to work for the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, retiring in 1995. He dedicated over 30 years on the Parent and Volunteer Association, Tiffin Development Center serving at various times as President. A lifelong Democrat, Jack served as a precinct committeeman. He was always a union man and cared deeply for the less fortunate. He was an avid reader and enjoyed history. Family meant everything to Jack and his family will miss him dearly. He is now with his beloved wife Pat, who died less than a year ago. Jack is survived by daughter, Katie John McClure; sons, John Michael; Timothy J. Deb Russell and Thomas C. Christine; grandchildren, Sara and Lisa Monico Davis-Candelaria, Ian; Padraic; Connor McClure and great-granddaughter Kamili Rose Candelaria. Sisters, Marcia Adamski, Janet Kirwan and brother Daniel; many nieces special thanks to Kathy Johnson and Denise Adamski, who visited him often during his final months and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty years, Patricia Pat, his parents, John and Helen, sisters Mary and Johanna, brothers Tom, James, George and William. A very special thanks to the staff of Spring Meadows Senior Community, where Jack had been a resident for the past eight months following injuries from a fall; and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The care he received from both was truly special. Friends may gather at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with final resting place taking place at Toledo Memorial Park, located at 6382 Monroe St. Sylvania, Ohio.
