John Holdinsky, 64, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on January 13, 1952 to George J. and Lucy J. (Merlongi) Holdinsky. John graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School and continued his education at Steubenville University now known as Franciscan University of Steubenville. He married his sweetheart, Patricia Falkowski on June 29, 1974 in Brilliant, Ohio and together they raised their two children. John worked as a project manager for Owens Corning for over 35 years. He retired in 2016. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, traveling and watching the stock market. John was an avid baseball and football fan. His favorite teams were Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. John has been a friend of Bill for many years. He will be dearly missed. John is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patty” Holdinsky; daughter, Jamie Lynn (Brent) Caldwell; son, Thomas “Rocky” (Stacie) Holdinsky; grandchildren, Xavier Caldwell, McKenna Caldwell, Lucas Holdinsky and Lillian Holdinsky; mother, Lucy Holdinsky; brother, George (Judith) Holdinsky; sisters, Linda (Rolly) Hintzman and Tina (Dan) Hauck; aunt, Mary Daloisi; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Reese. He was preceded in death by his father, George Holdinsky; sister-in-law, Stella Wilson; brothers-in-law, Captain Nick Hauck, Bill Singer; and his faithful friend, Bo. Friends will be received at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral prayers will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. and proceed to All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Rd., Rossford for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. The family would like to thank Dr. Tim Adamowicz and The Cleveland Clinic Staff, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Jackie, Kathy, Jasmine, Laura, Dr. Paul, Dr. Puri, and Ted.
