John William Bill Henkel

John Bill William Henkel, 85, of Toledo, OH passed away on May 30, 2018 at Flower Hospital. Bill was born on December 15, 1932 in Columbus, OH to Ronald and Stella (Call) Henkel. He was employed as a press operator at the Toledo Blade and the Detroit Free Press before retiring. Bill enjoyed woodworking, camping and working around the house in the yard. Surviving Bill is his loving wife of 57 years, Bernice; son, John (Jodie) Henkel of Marion, OH; grandsons John and Cory Henkel of Marion, OH; great-grandson, Vincent; several nieces and nephews; and beloved family from Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Henkel. There will be no services for Bill. His ashes will be laid to rest in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Thomas, Ontario at a later date. Tributes in Bills memory may be directed to the National Emphysema Foundation.
