John W. Gruhler

John W. Gruhler, 81, of Holland, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 15, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to Wilbur and Louise Gruhler and he married Paula S. Davis on October 25, 1958 also in Toledo. John proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a conductor for the railroad for over 45 years before retiring in 1995. John enjoyed woodworking as well as camping, traveling and spending time with his family. John is survived by his wife, Paula Gruhler; sons, Jay A. (Kimberly S.) Gruhler and John P. Gruhler; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Debra S. Wylie. Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. in Tontogany Cemetery in Bowling Green, Ohio. Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to Promedica Hospice and the Cancer Society.
