Campbell John Graydon, Jr. Jack John Graydon Campbell, Jr., age 81, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Flower Hospital in Sylvania. John was born in Punxsutawney, PA on March 26, 1927 to John and Lillian Campbell. After graduating from high school, John joined the Navy Seabees and served his country during WWII. Before moving to Toledo, John spent two years working on the St. Lawrence Seaways Eisenhower Lock. He was proud to have been recognized for his 50 years of service as an Operating Engineer. He worked out of the Local 18 Union Hall on construction projects throughout Ohio and Michigan. John was most comfortable operating a dragline or a bulldozer. He was a member of the Whitehouse American Legion Post 384, Wilkins United Methodist Church, the National Threshers Association, and the Historical Construction Equipment Association HCEA. He will also be missed by his friends at the Swanton McDonalds and Charlies on Central Ave. John is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Clara; sons, Charles Chuck Mary, John Carol, and Ronald Regina Campbell; grandchildren, Scott Krystal, Jennifer Shawn, Jason, Justin, Maria, and Katie; great-granddaughters, Kayla and Kloe; and sister, Lois Robert Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeffrey; and sister, Charlotte. Visitation will be Friday from 2-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave, west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to HCEA, Wilkins United Methodist Church or a charity of the donors choice.
