John W. Furstenberg

John W. Furstenberg, age 88 of Toledo, Ohio died peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2014 at his home. He was born in Ida, Michigan on July 14, 1926 to August J. and Hazel (Leathers) Furstenberg and on October 7, 1949 he married Patsy R. Robinett who preceded him in death on August 16, 2007. John was a painter employed by Jeep for over 26 years. He enjoyed woodworking and will best be remembered for his sharp and witty sense of humor. John will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Janet (Gary) Cupps; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Cyrus and Robert Tipping as well as his sister, Barbara Tipping. In addition to his parents and his wife, John was preceded in death by his daughters, Linda Borucki and Sherri Furstenberg; granddaughter, Melissa G. Cupps; brother, Harold Tipping as well as his sisters, Cora Karnowski, Thelma Gutherie, Eunice Marinski, Doris Dorren and Delores Bridge. Friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
