John Robert Franks, Sr.

John R. Franks, Sr, 80, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. John was born November 8, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Harry J. and Ida M. (Schultz) Franks. John worked for Libby Owens Ford for many years. He loved spending time at home with his family and his beloved dogs. He is survived by his wife, Diane, children, Deborah Shepler and John Robert (Julie) Franks, II., grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) Morgan, Rachel (Dave) Franks, Amanda (Patrick) Lothian, Anna Franks and Caroline Franks, great-grandchildren, Hannah Franks, Emma Bias, Lila and Penn Morgan and son-in-law, Richard McCune. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy McCune, son-in-law, Bryan Shepler and sister-in-law, Joyce Holst. Per John’s request, services and burial will be private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
