John P. Fix

John Paul “J.P.” Fix, 71, of Rossford, OH, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Julius E. Fix and Vivian (Braatz) Fix.

J.P. Attended Bowsher High School and Graduated in 1972. He worked at U.S. Cargo for several years, and most recently was a delivery truck driver for Fitzsimmons Hospital Services. He married his love, Barbara (Demko) Fix, on October 9, 1976.

He was a perfectionist at all tasks and loved to decorate for all holidays, especially Christmas. J.P. was always willing to help others and lend a hand – he never met a stranger that he couldn’t connect with. His most important role in life was being “Papa” and actively participating in any and every event his grandchildren were involved with. When Papa wasn’t busy waiting for the kids to get off the bus or celebrating their achievements in a sporting/school event, he could be found enjoying a sweet treat, such as his favorite – a doughnut. His other guilty pleasure was homemade family recipes, especially his wife’s excellent Chicken Paprikas or Pigs in a Blanket. John and Barb enjoyed going on special trips with a great group of friends that they looked forward to every year.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Katie Wilson; beloved grandchildren, Kennedy and Colin; siblings, Carol (Dave Durbin) Smith, Edward (Connie) Fix; siblings-in-law, Mary Dingess, William Demko, Judy Cain, Larry Oberdorf; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Courtney Fix; and parents.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski -Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford, OH, 43460. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
