John R. Drake

John R. Drake, age 83 of Toledo passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Flower Hospital. He was born April 2, 1930 in Toledo to John L. and Sarah Barker Drake. A 1948 graduate of DeVilbiss High School he attended the University of Toledo where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. A korean army veteran, he served his country from 1953 to 1955. John had a 37 year career with Libbey-Owens-Ford and retired in 1987. He and his wife, Sally enjoyed traveling through the United States and were former volunteers for Mobile Meals. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother Louis Drake; and sisters Shirley Fox and Jeannette Drake. Surviving is his wife Sally; son Tom Adrienne Drake; daughter Lisa Lance Daggett; grandchildren Brent and Haley Daggett, Matthew Drake, Chris Dina Green and Lindsay Bob Delrue; and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Tuesday from 4-8 PM where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM.
