John Allen Dellinger

John Allen Dellinger, age 81, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home in Whitehouse. John was born October 13, 1932 in Montpelier, OH to Wilbur and Frances Dellinger. He was a US Navy veteran serving on the USS Hornet. John owned and operated a Sunoco station upon returning from the Navy and then worked at Plaskon and Allied Chemical as color specialist. He was a longtime member of the Northern Light Masonic Lodge #40 F&M, where he was the past Master in 1993. John was always busy around the house building and fixing things. An avid traveler, he visited Alaska and Iceland and wintered in Florida. He especially enjoyed camping trips with groups from the Zenobia Shrine and NCT. John was also a skilled fisherman and hunter. John is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Laura Mark Sheidler and Thomas Janet Dellinger; grandchildren, Jason Kristen and Alyssa Sheidler, Emily and Megan Dellinger; brother, Richard Dellinger, and great-grandchild, Jonathon, on the way. Friends and family will be received at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 9:00pm with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Interment with military honors will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Online messages and condolences may be shared at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
