John Allen Cowie

John Allen Cowie, age 73, passed away January 8, 2008, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Allen and Mildred Cowie. He attended Rocky River High School and received his bachelor degree from the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He worked in the field of advertising and was an active volunteer in his community. He was a longtime member of the Epworth Church. He enjoyed golfing, listening to music, reading mystery novels, playing with his dog, Drexel, and spending time with his family. John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary; sons, Craig and Jeff; daughters, Elizabeth and Lora; grandson, Brendan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family, and friends. John was a beloved husband, a kind father, and a great friend, and he will be missed. Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Toledo Area Humane Society and the Toledo Area Metroparks.
