John Joseph Connors

John J. Connors, age 77 of Toledo passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021under the care of Ashanti Hospice in Sylvania. He was born January 30, 1944 in Toledo to Judge John and Virginia (Hancox) Connors. A graduate of St. Francis High School he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Toledo. John served in various capacities in area government services for 37 ½ years, retiring as Bailiff for Toledo Municipal Court. A longtime member of St. Hyacinth Church, he was an usher and a member of the choir. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Don McGee; and brother-in-law, Tom Sedgwick. John is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years, Diana; son, John (Heli) Connors; daughter, Jill (Stephen) Snyder; grandchildren, Colin, Kate, Theresa, Bridget and Patrik Connors, and Cole and Caleigh Hennen; step-grandchildren, Austin and Allie Snyder; sisters, Polly (Dave) Richardson and Molly Connors; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Friday from 4-8 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Hyacinth Church, Parkside Blvd., Toledo on Saturday at 9 am followed by the funeral mass at 10 am conducted by his brother-in-law Fr. Michael Kwiatkowski. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. As a courtesy to the family, masks will be required for visitation and services.
