John Coates, Jr.

John Coates Jr., age 75, of Sylvania, Ohio, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born in Shelby, N.C. on January 1, 1936 to the late John Sr. and Essie Mae Odoms Coates. John was a faithful Jehovahs Witness for over 50 years. He enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, and expressing his bible based hope for and with the future with others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Futrell Coates. Surviving are his children, Ronald John Coates Leona, David Eugene Coates Denise, Peter Isaac Coates, Johnna Jean Coates and Christine Camille Coates; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness, 3725 West Alexis Road.
