John B. Blevins, Sr.

John B. Blevins 75 passed away on June 6, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice Center in Sylvania. John was born January 27, 1937 in Hellier, KY to Delmer and Webble Francisco Blevins. John grew up in Maytown, KY and graduated from Maytown High School in 1955. He attended Alice Lloyd College in Pippas Passes, KY, and also Pikeville College in Pikeville, KY. John married Dorothy Ann Bowling Blevins on November 1, 1956 and the two of them were blessed with 55 1/2 years of marriage. John and Dorothy came to Toledo, Ohio in February 1957, where John worked for Continental Aviation now Teledyne CAE. John retired from Teledyne in 1989 after being employed for 32 years. John and Dorothy also owned and operated Clean All Cleaning Contractors for over 20 years. John was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Lambertville, MI since 1957. He was an active deacon for the church, served on the finance committee, and was a member of the joy club. Johns greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He was a good provider for his family and worked long hours to provide for them. His family was his first priority and he was always there to offer support, guidance and most of all love. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Ruth Blevins Russell; his parents, Delmar and Webble Blevins; his grandparents, John and Mary Case Blevins and Grover and Alva Childers Francisco; brothers, Kedrick M. and Kenneth G. Blevins; and sisters, Judy C. Blevins Archer and Patsy Blevins Deane. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, John B. Sevetlana Blevins of York, PA; daughters, Rebecka J. Blevins of Toledo, OH, and Martha A. Ron Ditmyer of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Patrick V. Lisa Blevins of Swanton, OH, Jennifer S. Blevins, Lindsay M. Ditmyer and step grandchildren, Natalie N. Zavales, Brittany A. White and Ronnie J. Ditmyer , all of Toledo; great-grandchildren, Kacey Carlise, Dominic Foster , Neveah Zavales, Asiah Woodby, McKenzie Lane, all of Toledo and Julia Smith of Swanton, OH; brother, Larry G. Polly Blevins of Holt, MO and sisters, Janice Blevins Hinkle and Mary Joan Blevins Wallen of Langley, KY. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. on Sunday from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Monday at Faith Baptist Church, 6245 Whiteford-Center Rd., Lambertville, MI 48144. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
