John J. Biviano, born October 29, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ, passed away peacefully November 17, 2011 at age 83 in Toledo, OH. John attended Ferris High School in Jersey City and earned a football scholarship to University of Denver in Denver, CO. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and began his teaching career in Durango, CO. John served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant at White Sands Proving Grounds, NM. He returned to NJ in 1957 and joined the Nutley school system to teach health and phys. ed. as well as to coach football for the Nutley Board of Education. John earned his Masters degree at Seton Hall University and later became a guidance counselor at Nutley High School. He was employed with the Nutley school system for 37 years. After retirement, he became a recruiter for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. John was an active member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church in Nutley, NJ for many years. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed football and baseball. John is survived by his brother, Angelo Biviano, of Rutherford, NJ, his son, Jonathan Biviano, of Astoria, Queens, NY, his daughter, Joanna Biviano-Niemann of Toledo, OH, and two grandchildren, Seth age 9 and Avril age 8 Niemann. He was formerly married to Thelma Fleetwood-Price of London, England. John was preceded in death by brothers Frank Biviano and Barney Biviano.
