John C. Bellner

John C. Bellner age 88 of Maumee, OH passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. John was born in Toledo on November 10, 1925 to Carl J. and Anna C. (Lutz) Bellner. John was a 1943 graduate of Libby High School and attended the University of Toledo. He was a United States Navy Veteran in WWII. John was employed as a boilermaker for William Ferrel, Inc. from 1971 until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Local 85 and one of the first members of Local 1 in Chicago in 1949. He will be remembered as always being a happy man and his willingness to help others. Surviving is his loving wife of 45 years, Debbie; children, Carol (Zeke) Huddleston, Joe Bellner and Cherie (John) Shattuck; grandchildren, Jason Napierala, Aaron (Lisa) Napierala, Rachel Bellner, Jennifer (Sam) Johnson, Tina (Joe) Hill and Tammy (Jeff) Tolson; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Samuel, Zander, Liana, Axel, David, Zackary, Kody, Nicole, Jonny, Samuel, Tyler and 4 great great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Howard (Martha) Bellner; sister in-law, Elsie Bellner and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Mark Bellner; Daughter, Gloria Napierala; brothers, Gerry and Jimmy Bellner and sister, Sr. Theresa Jane Bellner. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 2-6 pm. Services for John will follow visitation at 6 pm.
