John Alan Bahnsen

John Alan Bahnsen, age 65, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Cone Health Alamance Regional Hospital.

He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on May 2, 1958 to the late Raymond Charles Bahnsen and Santina Comella Bahnsen. In addition to his parents, he joined his brothers, David Bahnsen and Dan Bahnsen; sister, Mary Beth Bahnsen and precious grandson, Kaleb Alan Garner in Heaven. He was a 1976 graduate of Port Clinton High School. He retired after a 20-year career in the US Air Force and then worked at Caterpillar. John really started living and enjoying life 10 years ago when he met his life partner, Becki He was a bourbon connoisseur and enjoyed time spent with his family.

He is survived by his life partner, Becki of Burlington; daughters, Amanda Cox of Broadway and Kelsey Bahnsen and fiancé, Billy Sherrick of Broadway; sisters, Jodi Regal (David) of Oak Harbor, Ohio and Susan Bahnsen Burke of Toledo, Ohio; brother, Dennis Bahnsen of Port Clinton, Ohio and grandchildren, Alonna Cofery, Peyton Cofery and Samantha Cox

The family will receive friends at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10 am until Funeral services at 1 pm with Reverend Cheryl Wessel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
