John Nelson Bacon, Sr.

John Nelson Bacon, Sr. passed away March 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with heart and kidney failure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verna and Kenneth Bacon; son-in-law, Dave Litt; grandchildren, Carl Hennon IV and Emily Bacon. John was born in Warren, OH on August 14, 1941. He served in the Navy Reserve and was a graduate of Youngstown State University. Following graduation, John entered the banking profession where he continued until his retirement. John enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, watching his beloved Cleveland Browns and Indians, spending time with family and friends and telling wonderful stories and jokes. John is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Beverly; brother. Jim Bacon; sister, Sara Lee Neil; children, Danatta Litt, Carl (Melissa) Hennon, John (Kim) Bacon, Heather (Ed) Foor, Tamra Bacon; grandchildren, Max and Emma Hennon, Amanda and Clay Bacon, Grace and Ava Foor and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday April 4, 2016 at Memorial Lutheran Church 3215 Douglas Rd. Toledo, OH 43606 at 1:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Memorial Lutheran Church.
