John G. Andryc

John G. Andryc, age 90 of Maumee passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 in the Northwest Ohio Hospice Inpatient Unit, Perrysburg. He was born March 22, 1927 in Rossford to John and Emilia (Tomaszewski) Andryc. John was a 1945 graduate of Rossford High School and entered the Navy after graduation serving in World War II. He attended Bowling Green State University and was an Industrial Engineer for the former Libbey-Owens-Ford Company for 39 years, retiring in 1988. John was a member of the Maumee Elks and a charter member of the Merickel Farley Trout Club. He enjoyed entertaining friends and family in his home, dancing and was meticulous with his yard. John was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 63 years, Nancy. He is survived by daughters Cynthia (Rod) Clair of Denver, NC, Janet (Bruce) Colbert of Wentzville, MO, Nancy (William) Pohlman of Waterville, OH and Amy (Terry) Witmer of Warner NH; grandchildren John and Brian Clair, Tara Clair Gamble, Jill Broeker, Joe and Jay Stifel, Jenna Holloway, Todd and Hope Graven, Patrick Bailey and Hannah, Natalie, Tess and Luke Witmer; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Jennie Gargotto of Colorado; and brother Joseph (Mary Ann) Andryc of Rossford OH. Friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee on Thursday from 3-8 PM where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 PM. Funeral services will begin Friday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 11 AM in St. Josephs Church Maumee. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
