Captain John Wayne Ambrozy (Bozo), born November 23,1959 suddenly passed away on June 4, 2017. John, was a retired master carpenter and had a love affair with the water, especially his beloved Lake Erie. He was known to all as an expert and avid fisherman who traveled the world to find the elusive catch. John was certainly more ‘sure footed’ on the water than he was on land. He truly was a master angler. His love of fishing allowed him to give back by teaching others how to be good fishermen and conservationists of his favorite natural resource. John was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joseph and Mary Lou Ambrozy of Port Clinton. He leaves behind his siblings Mark T. Ambrozy of Marblehead, Catherine M. Ambrozy of Port Clinton, Frank Joseph Ambrozy of Port Clinton, Jeffrey A. Ambrozy of Port Clinton, and Martin R. Ambrozy of Charleston, SC along with several nieces and nephews and the tremendous network of friends in the fishing and diving communities. The Boz will always be our big fish. God Bless you, Bozo – TIGHT LINES! The Celebration of John’s Life will include a flotilla in his honor and a fish fry afterward with family and friends. The date to be determined and will be announced. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, assisted the family with arrangements.
