Johanne V. Rossi

Johanne "JoJo" Rossi, 81, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, in Port Clinton, Ohio.

Born and raised in Monroe Michigan, Johanne attended St. Mary Academy; eventually settling in the Toledo area with her family and working for Danberry as a realtor. Later she made her home on the shores of Lake Erie, where she loved sitting on her patio watching the boats and birds, greeting friends as they passed by.

For years, she owned a shop in Toledo called Sisters at the Park with her sister and best friend, Annetta. They shared their love of creating memorable gifts and spending quality time together.

She was passionate about being active, enjoying her daily walks. One of her proudest memories was walking the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge event with friends.

JoJo was an avid game player, especially fond of Euchre and Mahjong. She played with multiple groups of friends over the years and truly enjoyed fostering those relationships. Her competitive spirit shined brightest in the family Euchre championships, where "Team Vintage" (JoJo and daughter Gina) faced off against "Team Cute" (daughter Jenn and grandson Bhas) with Team Vintage rarely losing.

Johanne was deeply committed to her community and volunteered at many organizations including the Marblehead Lighthouse, Magruder Hospital, Wildwood Manor House, The Toledo Museum of Art, The Ronald McDonald House, and The Salvation Army. A longtime member of The Toledo Museum of Art, she especially enjoyed volunteering at the Peristyle.

JoJo loved reading, playing Scrabble, traveling, and sending cards for all occasions. She treasured time with her family, hosting Christmas gatherings, pool days and cookouts.

Johanne is survived by her children: Stephen Rossi, Gina Rossi, and Jennifer Rossi; grandson Bhas Rossi Davis; sister Annetta Pawlak; brother-in-law Richard Pawlak; and sister-in-law Kathleen Vadun.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Vadun; brother Anthony Vadun; sister Nina Morgan; brother-in-law Al Morgan; and Charles Rossi, former spouse.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and memorial donations may be made to The Cherry Street Mission. To know our JoJo was to love her. She was sassy and fun, young for her years and lived each day to the fullest. She will be deeply missed by all.
