Joette C. Haudrich, aged 86, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022 surrounded by her family, including her husband of 63 years. The eldest daughter of Ozie and Agnes Carter, Joette was born on July 29, 1935 in Paris, Arkansas. After graduating from St. Scholastica Academy in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she studied at St. Louis University. At the age of 22, she married David Haudrich of Columbia, Illinois. While David was the more studious type, Joette was always bustling with energy proving that opposites truly do attract. She leaves behind her loving husband, David; two children: Lisa (Jay) McGinnity and John (Wendy) Haudrich; five grandchildren: Kristian, Claire, Anna, Jordan and Ryan; twin sister Joanne (Charlie Mathews) Hilker, brother John (Jacquie) Carter, sister Rosie Carter as well as many nieces and nephews, all who lovingly comprise the “Carter clan.” Joette is predeceased by her brother Oz (Sheila) Carter. Known for her quick wit, Joette had a great zest for life and was definitely a people person. She enjoyed hosting events, especially family reunions, and was an avid bridge player with her many friends. Joette also had a passion for travel and enjoyed many trips across the US and Europe in her golden years with her husband, family and friends. Later in life, Joette received the most devoted care from the loving staff at the Grove at Oakleaf Village as well as Ohio Living Hospice. For this, Joette’s family is eternally grateful. Most of all, Joette will be best remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and “nana” who loved her family with her whole heart. A private Catholic mass is planned for Friday, January 14, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation (parkinson.org).
