Joanne Robel-Crotty

Joanne Robel-Crotty, 77, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born on January 5, 1931 in Geneva, OH to Ralph and Josephine Berly Howard. Joanne retired in 1995 from St. Vincents Hospital after 30 years. She was a member of LaPointe United Methodist Church. Joanne was also involved in the Bay Area Toastmasters, Moose Lodge #1610, and Playmakers Theatre, all in Port Clinton, OH, Genoa Civic Theatre, Genoa, OH, Eagles Lodge of Fremont, OH, American Legion in Albuquerque, NM and a life member of the National Rifle Association. She enjoyed many years as a shooting instructor at Camp Perry. Survivors include: Daughter: Betty Tony Debelak of Brunswick, OH; Grandchildren: David Katherine Debelak , Alan Debelak of Grove City, OH, Carolyn Debelak of Pittsburgh, PA; Great-Grandchildren: Ellie and Penny Debelak; Sisters: Marie Szarka of Parma, OH, Nora John Flood of Port Clinton, OH; Brother: James Howard of Albuquerque, NM, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by: Parents; Brother: Ralph Howard; Sisters: Loreen Ols and Peggy Homovec. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 to 1 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Oak Harbor, OH where a Memorial service will be conducted at 1 PM following the gathering. Memorial contributions in honor of Joanne may be given to LaPointe United Methodist Church, Genoa Civic Theatre, Playmakers Theatre, Ottawa County Humane Society or Stein Hospice of Sandusky, OH.
