Joanne “JR” Theresa Radsick, age 90, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, at Riverview Nursing Home. She was born on April 28, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alfred and Eldina (Perry) Youster. Joanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alson Radsick, who passed away on June 29, 1985.
Joanne's life was marked by warmth, love, and a passion for simple pleasures. She found joy in playing card games such as euchre and rummy, and she had a knack for winning at bingo. Her leisure time often found her engrossed in the pages of romance novels.
Famous among family and friends were Joanne's legendary cookies, baked to perfection upon request for any occasion. She enjoyed spending time at Meadowbrook Park in Bascom, Ohio, where she delighted in the outdoors and cherished nearly three decades of camping memories. A dedicated homemaker, Joanne also contributed her talents beyond her home, working at Erie Ordinance and for Toledo Building Services at Davis Besse Power Plant.
Joanne is survived by her loving children: Kathy (Kent) Widmer, Thomas (Theresa) Radsick; grandchildren: Amanda Widmer (Alan Hawkins), Emily (Mike) Laughlin, Jonathan (Melissa) Widmer, Hillary Radsick; great-grandchildren: Amelie Hawkins, Sawyer Hawkins, Evielyn Laughlin, Gwendolyn Laughlin, Alyce Widmer, Ella Widmer, Emma Widmer; sister: Kay (Richard) Welch; niece: Lisa (Mark) Besenti; and nephew: David Welch. She is preceded in death by her husband Alson, her parents, and infant niece Angela Welch.
Friends and family may be received from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Oak Harbor. A Mass of Christian Burial be held at 11:00am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 with a visiting hour from 10:00am-11:00am prior. Interment will take place at Elliston Cemetery following the funeral mass. For those that wish to make a memorial donation in Joanne’s honor, the family requests that donations be made out to St. Boniface Catholic Church and School.
