Joanne R. Moran

Joanne R. Moran, age 89 of Toledo passed away Monday April 4, 2016 in Sunset Village, Sylvania. She was born August 30, 1926 in Luckey, Ohio to Gordon and Bertha (Davis) Huss. A graduate of Troy Luckey High School, she was also a 1949 graduate of the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. She began her career as a public nurse, then continued as a Registered Nurse for Dr. Robert Tucker from 1949 to 1957. A devoted wife and mother, her life centered around the love and care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Burt Lake, Michigan. Joanne was a member of the Woodbine Chapter, Pemberville Order of Eastern Star and a longtime member of Augsburg Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rolland I. Huss, she is survived by her husband of 65 years, Peter L. Moran; daughters Elizabeth M. Betsy (John) Carr and Mary Beth Moran Durfee; and grandchildren Alexander, Emily, Nicholas and Caroline. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 4-7 PM. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 30 2016 at 11 AM in McCord Rd. Christian Church, 4765 N. McCord Rd. Sylvania, Ohio. Interment will be private.
