Joanne Mehalic

Joanne Mehalic, 76, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. Her loving family surrounded her all of her life, including her final weeks at Firelands. Joanne was born on December 18, 1935 in Port Clinton, OH, the daughter of George Earl and Susan Christiansen Walls. She married Charles Chuck W. Mehalic on May 6, 1980 in Euclid, OH, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1995. Joanne was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts and loved going fishing with Chuck. Joanne will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughter: Denise Michael Linnen; Sons: Randall Sharon Brokate and Bryan Sandra Brokate; Daughter: Andrea Bud Wright; Son: Scott Brokate; Daughter: Melissa Ashraf El-Meanawy; Brother: Robert Walls; Sister: Linda Makuhan; 14 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers: Roy Walls, George Junior Walls, Gene Duke Walls, Donald Walls, sisters: Susan Clark, Mavis Pudge Combs and Beverly Walls. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, July 12, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Joanne may be given to St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory has assisted the family with arrangements.
