Joanne H. Lagger

Joanne H. Lagger, of Perrysburg, Ohio, departed this earth on March 10, 2023, at Kingston of Perrysburg, after a long struggle with Lewy body dementia. Joanne H. Lagger was born on September 18, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, the only child of Adele and John Dimitroff. Joanne was a 1956 graduate of Morrison R. Waite High School, where she was involved in many school activities, including cheerleading.

After graduation, she began her career at a local engineering firm as part of the secretarial staff. Joanne then stayed home for a time to care for her young children. Reentering the work force, Joanne was an administrative assistant at Austin & Associates. She then returned to the engineering industry working as an office manager for Bower-Morner, Inc., where she retired in 1999.

Joanne’s greatest love in life was her family. Joanne met the love of her life, James Lagger, in 1959, when James, then working at a gas station, pumped her gas. He continued to do so throughout their entire 58 years of marriage. Joanne is survived by her loving husband, James; one son, John Lagger; one daughter, Julie (Robert) Bohmer; and grandchildren, Margaret, and William Bohmer.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 2:00-7:00PM, at the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, in Perrysburg, Ohio. A celebration of Joanne’s Life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, Ohio.
