JoAnn E. King, 83, of Maumee, OH, passed away on April 12, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH. Born on July 6, 1941, to Joseph and Patricia (Holmes) Fontana, JoAnn was affectionately known as "Jojo" by her grandchildren.
After graduating, JoAnn entered the workforce and met her husband, Michael, at the Cross Company and later married in a small, intimate ceremony in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Following a decade as a dedicated stay-at-home mom, she re-entered the workforce in purchasing.
JoAnn was a talented crafter who loved knitting, sewing, and cross-stitching. Her home was adorned with her handmade creations, and family members eagerly anticipated her homemade gifts during holidays and birthdays. She also had a beautiful flower garden and enjoyed working in her yard. Playing cards, especially multiple hands of solitaire, was one of her favorite pastimes.
JoAnn will be remembered for her fierce love for her family. She was a true chocoholic and loved to bake, with her homemade pita chips being a favorite among family and friends.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband, Michael King; daughters Kelli (Tim) Haworth and Lori (Paul) Board; and grandchildren Mary Haworth, Daniel Haworth, Christopher Haworth, Sarah Board, Michael Board, and Eric Board. She was preceded in death by her parents.
