Joann M Jones

Joann M. Jones, age 81 of Sylvania passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was born May 30, 1934 in Durham, North Carolina to Henry and Mozelle Martin and was raised by her Aunt Isabel Martin of Johnson City, TN. She graduated from East Tennessee State University and worked at Square D Electric for 25 years. She also enjoyed working at the Shade Tree Lounge. Joann was a member of the Women of the Moose and was an avid sports fan of golf, tennis and especially Ohio State. She enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with friends. Surviving is her son James Mike Jones of Mayfiled Heights, Ohio; extended family Jeff and Tina Emerine, Kevin Robertson, Sue Chapman, Bobby Emerine, Beth Sutherland and Karen Emerine; and special friends Judy Cozza and Vicki Smith. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 23 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) at 2 PM. Interment will be private.
