Joann Mcritchie Englebeck

JoAnn Englebeck, 81, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Monday, April 25, 2011 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. JoAnn was born in Port Clinton, OH, on May 31, 1929, the daughter of Ralph McRitchie and Velma Kern McRitchie-Sauvey. On November 06, 1955 in Port Clinton, she married Robert Bob Englebeck and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2004. She graduated from the St. Vincent School of Nursing, Toledo, OH. JoAnn worked as a nurse at H. B. Magruder Hospital for 39 years and retired in 2000 as the OR supervisor. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, OH. JoAnn was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Life Member of the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary, Port Clinton Yacht Club, Retired Nurses of Ottawa Co., Catawba Island Club, a Golferette at Catawba Island Club, where she was an avid golfer. She was very proud to get 2 holes in one at the CIC. JoAnn loved traveling with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughter: Roberta Bobbi Schmidt of Canal Winchester, OH; Brother-in-Law: Kenneth Mohler of Port Clinton, OH; Sister-in-Law: Wavelene McRitchie of Port Clinton, OH and several loving nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Jean Sauvey & Mary Mohler, brother: George McRitchie and grand-pup: Sandie Woof. Visitation will be from 10-11AM, Saturday, May 07, 2011 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, followed by a memorial service conducted by Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader & Pastor Judith Armbrust at 11:00AM. Private burial will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in memory of JoAnn be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society, Trinity United Methodist Church or Stein Hospice.
