Joann M. Broyles

JoAnn M. Broyles, age 73, of Toledo, OH, passed away September 24, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born January 14, 1950 at the US Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Marguerite (Silverthorne) Zalipski.

The greatest joy in JoAnn’s life was her family. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. When her children were growing up, JoAnn was active with the school PTA, girl scouts and vacation bible school. Her kind and compassionate nature, led her to always be the caregiver to family members in need. JoAnn was devout in her faith and was very involved with her church, Good Shepherd Lutheran.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Roper, Angela Broyles, and Rena (Kenneth) Gobble; grandchildren, Anna Roper, Chelsea (Dee) Wilson, Matthew Woods, and Samantha (Brad) Gauze; brother, James (Mary) Zalipski and Edward (Kathy) Zalipski; great-grandchildren, Noah, Cheyenne, Macy, Emma, and Ava; and many neices, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 31 years, Don E. Broyles; daughter, Kimberly Broyles Woods; grandsons, Derek Woods and Christian Simmons; and great-grandson, Gavin Gauze.

Family and friends may visit Monday, October 2, 2023 from 3-8 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. The Funeral Service for JoAnn will be Tuesday, October 3 at 11 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
