Joann L. Barbe

Joann L. Barbe, 82, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2018 at the Elizabeth Scott Community. She was born March 10, 1936 in Oakfield, OH to the late John and Levina (McHenry) Barbe. Shortly after graduating from Bristol High School in 1954, she moved to Cleveland and began a career with Aetna. She transferred to Toledo in 1973 and retired from Aetna in 1980. She began a second career with KeyBank in Trust Administration and retired in 2001. Joann always put others first and was devoted to her friends and family. She was a loving sister and aunt and will be greatly missed. Joann is survived by her brother, Richard (Carol) Barbe of Willoughby; brother-in-law, Robert Wild of Sylvania; numerous nieces and nephews; 1 great-niece and 4 great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Wild and Alma Barbe; and brother, Robert Barbe. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the North Bristol Christian Church, 1955 Hyde Oakfield Rd. NW, Bristolville, OH 44402, with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sager Memorial Cemetery. Tributes in Joanns memory may be made to the church.
