JOANIE MELOY SCHOENBERGER Joanie Meloy Schoenberger, 84, of Perrysburg, Ohio died peacefully with her husband at her side on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. She was born in Orange, New Jersey on, December 7, 1930, to William T. and Esther (Selby) Meloy and was married on April 10, 1954 to Robert “Bob” Schoenberger. Joanie was a graduate of Maumee Valley Country Day School and Pine Manor Junior College in Brookline, MA. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She had an inviting smile, a famous contagious laugh, and a very witty sense of humor. A longtime member of Belmont Country Club, she was an avid tennis player and was known as the “Lob Queen”. Joanie is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob”; sons, Bruce (Karen) Schoenberger of Ottawa Hills and Jeffrey (Vivian) Schoenberger of Fairlawn, Ohio; grandchildren, Scott, Nikki, Grace and Van Schoenberger; brothers, John (Cynthia) Meloy of Perrysburg and Stephen (Ginny) Meloy of Poland, Ohio; nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 – 5 P.M. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Burial will be private. Because of Joanie’s love of animals, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Toledo Humane Society, 1920 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, OH 43537.
