JOAN HELEN WALKER Joan Helen Walker, age 87 of Toledo, OH, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. She was born to the late Frank Staup and Helen Sarver Staup on November 20, 1929. She died peacefully, surrounded by family. Joan grew up in Toledo, OH and graduated from Libby High School. She married her sweetheart, Larry D. Walker on November 5, 1949 by candlelight, 67 years ago. Joan also graduated from nursing school and worked many years as an LPN, caring for others in Ohio and Utah. She enjoyed a very full and happy life, vacationing and camping with Larry and their children throughout the US and Canada. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and volunteered as a Family History missionary, an Employment Specialist and at the LDS Temple in Houston. Those who loved and knew her well, would agree that she was a beautiful, kind and generous woman with a witty, understated sense of humor, who could destroy anyone in a game of Scrabble. Joan is survived by her husband, Larry D Walker; children, Daniel (Rolande) Walker, Terry (Sheryl) Walker, Debra (Scott) Bartlett, Lorry Walker, and Robbyn (Paul) Riley. She also is survived by 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the last few years.
