Joan Briggs

Joan Briggs, age 64, of Holland passed away on May 1, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Toledo on May 18, 1949 to Edward & Evelyn (Nachtrab) Glowski. She married Donovan Briggs in Toledo on July 25, 1981. A Registered Nurse, Joan worked for the former Mercy Hospital and then worked as a visiting nurse for years following. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her loving husband, Donovan; children, Paul (Sherry) Miles; Renee Miles & Jerry Fleming; Bridget Briggs; Troy Briggs; grandchildren, Paul Miles & Sarah Escobar; Austin Miles; great grandson, Edward “Eddie Bear” Miles; sister, Jeanne (Jim) Bethel; brother, Tom (Deb) Glowski; sisters-in-law, Linda Bruseau; Tammy (Dave) Krabill; aunts, Donna Zims; Seil Henning; uncle, Mike (Jeannie) Nachtrab and first husband, Rod (Charolette) Miles; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Timmy. Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 2-8 pm Monday where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 with Pastor Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Lucas Co.
