Joan Elizabeth Bock

Joan E. (Hinsey) Bock, 88, of Perrysburg, Ohio died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, OH. on July 4, 1926 to Robert and Esther May (Clark) Hinsey. Joan was in the Cadet Nurse Corp and was a R.N. for various doctor offices and hospitals. She took pride in being a charge nurse and loved her career. She retired from Crest Haven after many years of service. Joan was an active member of Zoar Lutheran Church. She enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and extended her home to traveling friends and family. Joan was an avid bridge player and golfer. She married her sweetheart, Warren Bock on January 23, 1948 and they spent 56 years together. Joan and Warren were founders and members of Byrnwyck Country Club, now known as Brandywine. They enjoyed traveling across the United States and through Europe together. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Joan is survived by her son, Dr. Gerald “Gerry” Bock; son-in-law, David Prue; grandchildren, Katarina Bock, Andrew and A.J. Keyte; brother, Robert C. (Ruth) Hinsey; Brother-in-law, Robert Scholl;. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Elizabeth “Ann” Prue; and sister, Virginia Scholl. Friends will be received at Zoar Luthern Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 AM at with a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
