Jimmie Jim L. McNair, 77, of Genoa, died early in the morning of Monday, December 17, 2018, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. Jim was born April 27, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, to Nathan and Elizabeth (Shull) McNair. On August 12, 1961, in Oregon, Ohio, he married Lenora Hawkins and she survives. Jim served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban missile crisis on the USS Lawrence, Blockade of Cuba DDG-04. After 35 years he retired in 2008 from Apex Metal Fabricators as a welder. Jim enjoyed vegetable gardening and in his early years enjoyed hunting. For 35 years he kept his boat at Meinke Marina; and when he could, hed fish every day from March to November, particularly for perch and walleye. He took many trips to Minnesota and Ludington, MI. He was a life member of the North American Fishing Club. Next to loving his children and grandchildren, Jim enjoyed his Budweiser! In addition to his wife, Lenora, Jim is survived by his daughter, Pam (Tim) Clark and son, Jimmie McNair, Jr., both of Genoa; grandchildren, Matthew Clark, Sarah (Blair) Skilliter, Mariah McNair and Mackenzie McNair; great grandchildren, Vivian Skilliter and Naomi Paco; and sister-in-law, Claire McNair. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Junior and William McNair and sister, Pamella McNair. Visitation for Jim will be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
