James “Jim” Kent Terry Jr. James “Jim” Kent Terry Jr., 50, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015. He was born October, 12, 1964 in Toledo, Ohio, to James Sr. and Patricia (McIntosh) Terry. Jim attended St. Joseph Catholic School through grade 8 and then graduated from Central Catholic High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Toledo and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Education Technology at Bowling Green State University. Jim married the love of his life, Bernadette Dewell, and together they raised their son, Jack. They were members of St. Rose Catholic Church for many years. Jim was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim worked in the Washington Local School District as a Science Teacher at Jefferson Jr. High. He was known for his enthusiastic teaching style, his love of science, and for inspiring his students. It was Jim’s belief that learning should be fun. Jim could always be found wearing one of his over 300 wacky ties. Jim was very proud of Washington Local Schools and loved his students. At the Jr. High, Jim was the Science Facilitator and Vice President of Teaching Association of Washington Local Schools. Jim was also an advisor for the Youth to Youth program at the school. At home, Jim enjoyed music with his son and treasured family vacations to over 30 National Parks. He was an amazing father and cherished his family. Jim was very involved in his son’s Boy Scout Troop #110, where he served as Web Master and was also on the Committee. Jim is survived by; wife, Bernadette; son, Jack; father, James Sr.; brother, David (Linda) Terry; sister, Linda (Keith) Johnson; nieces, Allyson, Andrea, Leah, nephews, Hunter, Hayden, Ryan; parents-in-law, John and Geri Dewell; brother-in-law, Tim (Rachel) Dewell; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia. Friends will be received on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133), where a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Prayers will begin at 9:45 A.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 217 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio, with a burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery to follow.
