Jim Burdine, 59, was called home on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, MI surrounded by family. He was born in Louisville, KY on Sept 1, 1956 to James T. and Freda G. (Beutel) Burdine. He was raised in Alaska and North Dakota with his three siblings. Jim was a graduate of the University of North Dakota and earned his masters degree in mathematics from New York University. He studied medicine at Baylor University and completed a residency and fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He was employed at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon specializing in Robotics. Jim was passionate about many things, including; family, faith, birding, model T’s, reading, problem-solving, and learning. Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Lynn T. Burdine; daughters, Allison (Ben) Tillman, Katherine Burdine; son, Frederick Burdine; granddaughters, Lily and Cora Tillman and siblings Rebecca (Ed) Hultgren, Lynda Eller and John (Tammi) Burdine. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2 PM at Grace Church, 601 East Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH.
