Jerry L. Miller

Jerry L. Miller, 80, of Oak Harbor, died Wednesday evening, September 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. Jerry was born November 29, 1937, in Elliston, Ohio, to Cecil E. and Ruby C. (Gregerson) Miller. On April 22, 1961, he married Marilyn L. Hartman at Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville. She preceded him in death September 4, 2004. Jerry loved the outdoors and farmed for over 40 years. He also served in the Ohio Army National Guard from 1955-1962. Jerry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rocky Ridge and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a volunteer fireman for the Rocky Ridge Fire Department and worked for Baker Bonningson Auction Services for many years. Jerry also sold crop insurance, Bush Hog farm equipment and was a co-owner of M&D Ditching. Jerry is survived by his children, Judith Binns, Daniel (Gina) Miller and Laurie Cleaver; brother, Blair (Anita) Miller and sister, Diana Henry; grandchildren, Jeremy Domrose, Joshua Miller, Grant Miller, Shannon Binns, Jacob Cleaver and Matthew Cleaver; and great grandchildren, Bryson Miller, Joshua Miller, Jr. and Carter Cleaver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruby, wife, Marilyn, brother and sister-in-law, Dale E. and Rita Miller, and brother-in-law, Merl Henry. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, with burial to follow in Elliston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials for Jerry be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 450 N. Rocky Ridge Rd. P.O. Box 69, Rocky Ridge, OH 43458; or the donors choice.
