Jerry S. Kovacs

Jerry S. Kovacs, 76, passed away peacefully February 13, 2018 in Vancouver, WA after spending quality time with his children. He was born March 26, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio to Michael and Sophie (Danko) Kovacs. Jerry graduated from Waite High School and worked at AP Parts for 30 years until his retirement, at which time he worked a few odd part-time jobs. Jerry enjoyed watching sports and eating well, especially the Cleveland Indians and apple pie. He had a very kind heart, was a dedicated father and husband defining himself by providing for his family, and will be deeply missed. Surviving are his children, Jason (Shannon) Kovacs, Elizabeth (Matthew) Deshner, sister, Jeannette Berg, his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Terry; his brothers, Mickey, John, Joseph and Jim; and his sister, Virginia. Friends and family will be received on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 4 – 8 pm at Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, OH (419-691-6768). Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
