Jerrold Jerry Meyer, passed away on Sunday December 2, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital after collapsing in his home on November 29.. Jerry was born on May 29, 1934 in Edgerton, Ohio to Clifford and Arlyn Weber Meyer. On April 19, 1974 he married Linda Appleby Matthews. Upon graduation from Ft. Wayne Bible College Jerry taught for several schools and also became the pastor for the Zion Christian Lutheran Church and Sugar Ridge Community Church. He worked for the State of Ohio Farm Bureau in Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa Counties. Jerry was the treasurer for the Maumee City Schools for 28 years while concurrently handling the treasurers position for the Lucas County Education Service Center, Upon retirement from Maumee Schools he served as controller at Tiffin University and several Charter Schools in the Toledo area, finishing his career at Ravenna City Schools in July of 2011. He was past president of the NWOASBO, the OASBO, and a past board member of the MTEPA. Jerry is survived by his wife Linda, mother, Arlyn, son, Jeremy Meyer, daughter, Lindsay Michael Clark, daughter, Cindy Santana, son, Eric Arden Meyer, daughter, Penny Terry Edwards, step daughter, Jennie Matthews, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and dog Sophie. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Jack Meyer. A gathering for Jerry will be on Wednesday December 5, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, Ohio. A memorial service will be on Thursday December 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the donors choice.
