Jerome C. "Jerry" Rodeman, age 86, passed away on June 23, 2026.
Jerry was born on November 27, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, to John and Mary Rodeman. The youngest of six children, he grew up in Akron and graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School as a member of its first graduating class. He went on to attend the University of Toledo, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi. He also proudly served in the National Guard.
Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed playing sports and staying active. As a member of the Catholic Alumni Club, he played volleyball and learned both tennis and downhill skiing. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he enjoyed following his team and cheering them on each season.
Jerry worked as a salesman for AP Parts and Questor. During his years there, he enjoyed playing softball with his coworkers and formed many lasting friendships.
He later moved to Crystal Lake in Cement City, Michigan, where he enjoyed lake life before eventually returning to Toledo.
One of Jerry's greatest passions was skiing. He joined the National Ski Patrol and dedicated 41 years of service to Mt. Brighton and later to Schuss Mountain. Through skiing and ski patrol, he developed many friendships and created countless memories.
Never married, Jerry lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his love and enjoyment of life, his adventurous spirit, and the many friendships he made along the way. He cherished time spent with family and friends and appreciated the many experiences that enriched his life.
Jerry is survived by his niece, nephews, their families, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, John and Mary Rodeman, Jerry was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Rodeman, John (Marie) Rodeman, Edward Rodeman, Rosemarie (Nelson) Adkins, and Richard Rodeman.
Private family services will be held. Jerry will be cremated and buried in Akron, Ohio, alongside his parents and siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice in honor of Jerry.
